EDIT: Guys, please don't downvote :( I can't play the game and I've wanted to play it for a very very long time. I've already searched on the internet, and in this subreddit, I don't know what else to do. If you're thinking 'Oh this guy's so dumb, the solution's obvious, downvote.' TELL ME. I realize that doing this might just invite more downvotes, but this is my last shot at being able to play the game.

Well, there's a pretty big one and another smaller one that I'm fairly certain is related to the issue.

I've seen this brought up several times on this subreddit (via search bar) with no real solution. The smaller of the two glitches is the constant flashing of xbox and PC controllers. I have installed vjoy in the past and I've read that that is a factor, but when attempting to unintall it, a window popped saying the file path didn't exist. I don't know what to make of that and I think it might be the source of the issue but the only trace of vjoy is unreachable.

The bigger glitch is a mix of a lot of different things. A lot of the controls are unbound or don't work properly. In the screenshot here (I had to switch into windowed mode to screenshot, don't ask), I cannot progress through the game. This is right when the dude in the simulation is showing me how to manually change my powers (I think). I don't even know because I can't play it!

I try to go into controls (which, by the way, the 'up' arrow key doesn't work at all in menus, I have to keep pressing down until it wraps around) and go into 'set controls and keys' or whatever it is. At that point, the game doesn't accept any input from the keyboard. Not escape, not f1 to set to defaults (which, btw, f1 only briefly flashes sometimes because of glitch #1), nothing. The game is responsive, because I can still move and highlight options by moving my mouse, but if I click (which would select the menu option on any other menu), nothing happens.

I tried navigating through the other menu controls and I can search through gamepad options just fine. I can move and click, I can use down arrow (up arrow doesn't work on ANY menu in the game). It's that one specific page that forces me to quit out through task manager. It was an annoyance until it simply prevented me from continuing on with the game. I am now stuck.

Another anecdote related to this glitch. During the spaceship escape level, during the first run, the barrel roll and the roll keys showed up as unbound. I could move my mouse and got through the first couple obstacles before dying because I couldn't go sideways. When I respawned, suddenly these keys were bound and I could complete the level.
